The ProPak India 2019 is an international event providing the perfect stage for manufactures and suppliers of machinery and technology. ProPak India is a one of a kind- processing and packaging trade event connecting international suppliers to native buyers. The event opens avenues for market growth through its food, drink, personal care, and hygiene, industrial goods, e-commerce, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. ProPak swells its chest with the pride of connecting over 3,000 exhibitors to more than 100,000 buyers from across the region and also, it provided a platform for Mr. Anshul Gupta to share his expertise on the Interactive packaging.

Mumbai hosted the second edition of the ProPak India 2019, where visitors were treated with industry specific seminars and conferences. Enriching insights and in-depth analysis given by   international and local experts elevated the experience and learning one got from the event.            

Sproxil’s Country Head Anshul Gupta was the keynote speaker at ProPak India 2019. Anshul spoke on Smart Packaging and its importance. Where he touched base on the concepts of Design-led, Active, and connected aspects of Smart Packaging. The speech went on to throw light on packaging being an aspect of minimal interest to brands and manufacturers. He added that packaging is an integral aspect of product design but is often most ignored. The use of improved technology, material, and design can amplify the value and help brands and manufacturers move and evolve from stagnated business models. 

Anshul spoke extensively on the topic of Connected packaging. He constructed his speech highlighting why Connected Packaging should be the next “big” focus and how it has already begun getting the attention of major players. With the use of technology like sensors, codes, and tags, etc. power is vested in the hands of brands to transform the way they sell, deliver, market and use products. Technology embedded helps brands track, trace, and collect data that can be leveraged to effect. The aspect of packaging with brand association and quality were touched upon: where brands can transition to interactive packaging from mere physical packs, add value and enhance a user’s experience. Packaging can serve as a binocular into the supply chain ensuring better quality control and monitoring.

Anshul added that —inventory and life cycle management, product integrity, and user experience are the three broad categories that connected packaging solutions fall into. Bringing the spotlight on Sproxil, Anshul spoke of Sproxil’s strength in product authenticity and user experience. Taking the focus further, he emphasized on Sproxil’s use of OCR and image recognition to increase and enhance consumer engagement. Product authentication by means of QR code scanning was spoken of. 

Sproxil’s Smart View was introduced where users can get real-life experience with the use of augmented reality (AR). Brands can leverage the use of AR to build a more tangible relationship with its users. This technology ensures guided product verification and pleasant onboarding experience. 

To make the most of this offering, the user would have to download Sproxil’s Smart View. The user will then hold the phone capturing the product purchase. The application will help the consumer verify product authenticity, offer a succinct overview, and a host of additional product information that the user may need.
